History of Kineton Art Group

Kineton Art Group was founded in 1988 by, amongst others, Rosalie Jordan, Peggy Shiner, Val Bean and Lyn Rayner. The early meetings were held in the local Scout Hut which, Lyn recalls, was “freezing cold”. Finally, Peggy discovered that the Village Hall was available for hire and the fledgling Art Group promptly decamped from the Scout Hut to the warmth of the Village Hall.

Peggy reached the grand age of 100. She carried on painting well into her nineties proving that a love of creating art can last a lifetime.  Lyn remains a constant and enthusiastic group member, and although no longer an active member of the group due to illness, Rosalie still maintains contact with the group.

Over the years, these founding members have encouraged and helped all our group members with their patience and support.
