K.A.G. Constitution – revised 07/11/22
1. The Society will be called Kineton Art Group.
2. The Committee will consist of seven to twelve members elected annually at the A.G.M.
3. At the A.G.M., from the newly elected Committee, the members present will annually elect the Chairperson, Minutes Secretary, Administrator and Treasurer. The Chairperson may serve up to a limit of 5 years and not be re-elected to Committee for a period of 3 years.
4. A quorum of the committee will be five. The Committee will be responsible for all K.A.G. decisions.
5. The President will be appointed at the A.G.M. and will be an Honorary Member of the group and its Committee.
6. Additional Honorary members can be appointed at the discretion of the Committee.
7. The Society’s financial year will run from 1st September to 31st August. The A.G.M. will take place in the first three months after the end of the financial year. Full accounts of the financial affairs of the Club will be audited by the auditors and will be delivered at the A.G.M.. All expenditure to be approved by K.A.G. Committee.
8. Subscriptions will be due on 1st September and will be set at the A.G.M. by members ready for the following year. Members not renewing their subscriptions by 30th September will be deemed to have resigned.
9. The membership will be limited to eighty and the Membership Secretary will hold the waiting list. Members are expected to attend at least 6 times a year (excluding exhibition duties). It will be mandatory that all members upon joining K.A.G. will sign a Data Protection form, which will then last for the duration of their membership.
10. Members introducing a visitor to a meeting or demonstration will be required to pay a fee, as decided at the A.G.M. The first visit to a normal meeting is free. A visitor may attend a further three meetings (paid) before becoming a member if there is a vacancy.
11. Meetings will normally be held between 12.30pm and 3.00pm and between 7.00pm and 9.30 pm each Monday.
12. Three bursaries to be used on Tuition (50% can be spent on art materials excluding framing) will be awarded annually by a draw taken at the A.G.M. The value will be decided at the A.G.M. Each recipient must use their bursary as soon as possible and must be within 18 months. The winners will not become eligible to win again for another three years. A member is not eligible for the bursary in their first year of membership.
13. The Group will arrange demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions as agreed each year by the Committee. Members to offer mutual support, guidance and encouragement in their Art.
14. In the event of the group being dissolved any remaining funds will be donated to a charity selected by the Committee at the time of the dissolution.
15. For all matters requiring a vote a simple majority will be required.
